Elon Reeve Musk (born June 28, 1971) is a South African-born, Canadian-American entrepreneur, business magnate, and engineer. He is known for his leadership of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter). He is considered one of the wealthiest people in the world.

Early Life and Education:

  • Elon Musk was born on the 28th of June 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa.
  • Created and sold a video game called "Blastar" at age 12. 
  • Attended Queen's University in Canada and later transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned degrees in physics and economics. 
  • Initially pursued graduate studies in physics at Stanford University, but left after two days to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

PayPal and Early Internet Ventures (1995–2002) 
Elon Musk launched Zip2 in 1995, an online city guide, sold to Compaq for $307 million, earning $22 million. He founded X.com, which became PayPal, revolutionizing e-commerce. Sold to eBay for $1.5 billion in 2002, Musk netted $165 million, fueling his ambitious future ventures in technology.

SpaceX and Space Exploration (2002–Present)
Musk founded SpaceX in 2002 to make space travel affordable, achieving the first private orbital launch in 2008. Reusable Falcon rockets and Starlink’s global internet drive its ~$350 billion valuation. SpaceX enables ISS missions, with Starship targeting Mars through ongoing test flights by 2025.

Tesla and Diverse Ventures (2004–Present)
Musk became Tesla’s CEO in 2008, producing electric cars like Model S and Cybertruck, valued at $1 trillion. He co-founded SolarCity, Neuralink, and xAI ($20 billion), built tunnels via The Boring Company, and acquired Twitter for $44 billion in 2022, rebranded as X.
